Montane launches pioneering collection for AW23 rooted in ‘built for more’ campaign

British outdoor clothing and equipment brand, Montane, has revealed its latest innovations for AW23 with responsible developments in its shell, down, legwear and fleece categories.

The collection, which launches at the time of the brand’s 30th anniversary, is designed with endurance, efficiency, and exploration in mind.

The overarching campaign is titled ‘built for more’, highlighting the brand’s increasingly considered approach, its adaptability, advances in technology and the changing world of adventure.

Within the new product range for AW23, a selection of complementary colour palettes and matte finishes have been introduced. Highlights include ‘stone blue’, a modern, wearable colour and ‘citrus spring’, a vibrant and versatile colour which works in synergy with tonal greens for men; and ‘deep forest’, a harmonious and sophisticated deep green for women.

For AW23, Montane has built on its premium protection offering in its shell category with developments in its Phase franchise. The new releases include the Phase Pro Shell Jacket, which is engineered to protect against the toughest conditions with its high-performance day-to-day versatility, and the Phase Nano Jacket, with its Gore-Tex active shell fabric and a fully seam taped construction, designed to offer maximum protection with minimum weight. The franchise is further strengthened with the introduction of the Phase XPD Pants, a Gore-Tex pro shell ‘most breathable’ fabric built for extreme mountain environments and the Phase Pants, packable and waterproof pants for high intensity activity in wet conditions. 

The outdoor brand has expanded its down insulation with the introduction of the Resolve XT Hoodie and the Resolve Hoodie, both built using Gore-Tex Windstopper technology for reliable protection against winter weather. The Resolve XT Hoodie excels at keeping the wearer warm and comfortable when moving quickly in the mountains and the Resolve Hoodie is a year-round versatile product for core mountain activities offering lightweight high-performance warmth.

The Anti-Freeze franchise has been extended to include the Anti-Freeze XPD Hoodie which is engineered to protect in the most extreme mountain environments. The hoodie is built with 100% recycled nylon with a PFC-free DWR, Responsible Down Standard certified down, recycled zip tapes, and maximises protection and performance whilst minimising weight.

Additional highlights in down insulation include the Alpine 850 Hoodie which is built for mountain environments with its exceptional warmth to weight ratio delivered from high performance 850 fill power Hyperdry™ goose down which is encased by ultra-light, durable 10D Pertex Quantum Eco fabric that utilises box wall construction. And the Tundra Hoodie, designed for everyday cold weather protection, which combines durable recycled materials alongside versatile features to create a hoodie which is easy to wear in a multitude of outdoor activities.

Montane’s breathable active synthetic insulation is strengthened with the Respond franchise, which excels in cold and wet conditions and includes the Respond XT Hoodie, Respond Hoodie, and Respond Pants. All styles use 100% recycled nylon outer and lining fabrics with a PFC-free DWR, 100% recycled polyester insulation, and recycled zip tapes. The Respond franchise are lightweight, versatile, and high-performance products, built to maintain thermal performance during unpredictable winter mountain conditions.

Additional highlights also utilising recycled fabrics and trims include the Icarus Hoodie; a warm, lightweight synthetic insulated hoodie with new body mapped dual Primaloft technology that improves thermal performance and durability, ensuring versatile high performance that lasts. Furthermore, the Fireball franchise has been extended with the introduction of the Fireball XT Hoodie and the Fireball Hoodie, both offering highly breathable recycled active insulation as a mid or outer layer. The Fireball XT Hoodie is an unrestrictive insulated hoodie for high output activities in demanding technical environments and the Fireball Hoodie offers versatile active insulation with a sleek silhouette and refined feature set.

New additions in the softshell and fleece category include the Windjammer XPD Hoodie, a technical softshell with its warm, windproof, and highly breathable qualities, and the Tenacity XT Hoodie with its excellent abrasion resistance and moisture management. The Fury franchise is further strengthened with the introduction of the Fury XT Hoodie which provides insulating freedom of movement and the Fury Jacket which features a thermo stretch brushed back fleece fabric that offers high levels of comfort through its warmth to weight ratio.

The advancements seen in Montane’s legwear in SS23 are built upon with the introduction of the Tenacity XPD Pants, technical and tough mid-weight softshell trousers with fully adjustable removable braces designed for ski-touring or mountain-based winter activities and the Tenacity XT Pants, a technical winter mountaineering pant with high levels of performance, wind, and abrasion resistance.

Further highlights in legwear include the Terra XT Pants, a lightweight, technical mountain pant boasting a comprehensive feature set with hand, thigh and rear zipped pockets, side ventilation, brace, and gaiter compatibility; the men’s and women’s Slipstream Thermal Tights which are constructed using body mapped fabrics such as fast drying thermal dynamic and granite loft on the front thighs for additional wind protection; the women’s Ineo XT Pants, technical slim-fitting thermal trekking tights which have been designed with fast and light mountain activities in mind; and the women’s Tucana Pants, lightweight softshell pants with a slim fit and clean aesthetic for mountain walking.
