SOLE by FlexiTec has presented its German-developed, patented spring-steel footwear technology at the BrandNew Village during ISPO Amsterdam 2026.
At the centre of the system is a wave-shaped spring-steel core measuring 0.26mm thick. According to the company, it flexes along the length of the foot while remaining stable across its width, then returns to its original shape.
Two retail formats
The technology is offered in two retail products. The Pure is a standalone steel core designed to sit beneath an existing insole, while The Powersole is a complete insole combining the steel core with a micro-perforated textile surface and foam base.
SOLE by FlexiTec says both options are intended for use in sports shoes, sneakers, work footwear and outdoor footwear. Footwear brands can also integrate the technology into a footbed, insole board or removable insole.
Industry response at ISPO
The company reported interest at ISPO from brands, retailers, influencers and professional athletes, including windsurfing world champion Björn Dunkerbeck. Former alpine ski racer Felix Neureuther is an ambassador and investor in the business.
Thomas Bout, Head of Growth and Co-Founder, said: “Modern footwear has forgotten how the human body moves. With most insoles, you still only have two options: foam that gives way, or a plate that doesn’t move with you. FlexiTec® is neither one nor the other – and you can feel the difference with every step.”
