ISPO Impact Foundation announces inaugural global grant recipients

The ISPO Impact Foundation has announced the recipients of its inaugural global grants programme, with 37 projects selected from 495 applications across 75 countries.

The €1 million fund supports projects under two pillars: Regeneration, protecting and restoring natural environments, and Participation, using sport and outdoor activity to improve access, inclusion and wellbeing.

Twelve headline Momentum and Impact grant winners were announced live in Amsterdam on 4 November. The funded work includes adaptive skiing in Canada, using football to address wildlife trafficking in Colombia, wildfire mitigation in Nepal, climbing programmes for refugees in Greece, seagrass restoration in Croatia and inclusive singletrail development in Romania.

Tanya Kenrick, CEO of the ISPO Impact Foundation, said: “Allocating this €1 million fund was an extremely rigorous process for our advisory council, and we have taken our stewardship of these resources incredibly seriously. ISPO’s vision has provided a truly scalable vehicle for long-term change, and we are honoured to champion these organisations as they begin turning vital funding into measurable environmental and social impact.”

Andrew Denton, president of the ISPO Impact Foundation, said: “It has been so inspiring to meet some of our recipients and hear about the incredible work they are doing. Protecting our natural spaces and keeping global communities active is vital for our collective future, and we are thrilled to now be officially backing these 37 outstanding projects around the world.”
