Outdoor retailers and brands heading to Amsterdam for ISPO will have another major source of product and market insight on their doorstep when the International Running Expo (IRX) opens at RAI Amsterdam on 4–5 November 2026.
The dedicated running-industry event will bring together more than 200 international brands and over 1,500 products, with categories covering footwear, apparel, accessories, nutrition, technology and recovery.
Why IRX matters to the outdoor trade
For outdoor businesses, the overlap with running is increasingly practical. Footwear, technical apparel, recovery, accessories and performance technology all cross directly into outdoor retail, while trail and active-lifestyle consumers continue to blur traditional category boundaries.
IRX gives retailers and buyers the chance to compare products in person, meet brand teams and explore potential new partnerships. The show’s business focus is built around connecting retailers, distributors, brands and other decision-makers in one place.
Product discovery plus live experiences
Beyond the exhibition floor, the event programme includes athlete and expert content covering performance and the wider business of running. Organisers have highlighted Allyson Felix, Dafne Schippers and Alex Yee among the featured names.
Interactive elements include the Running Track, Speed & Skills Lab, SCOTT & Midnight Runners Mystery Line Run, Runners High – Follow the Beat and the Wellbeing & Recovery Lounge, giving visitors a chance to experience products and ideas in a more practical environment.
IRX and ISPO under one roof
The strongest crossover for the outdoor sector comes from IRX’s co-location with ISPO. A single ticket gives access to both events, allowing outdoor visitors to broaden their visit into running while running-focused businesses can explore the wider sport and outdoor market.
Advance tickets are €99, compared with €120 for onsite registration.
With seven days remaining before IRX opens, the organisers are urging visitors to register and plan their time across the two shows.
Find registration information on the International Running Expo website.
