Berghaus prepares for winter with new insulated apparel

Berghaus has introduced new down and synthetic insulation to its range for autumn/winter 2024. The Summit-Nomad and Trail-Nomad jackets are both designed for winter adventures on the trails and are available in men’s and women’s specific versions.

They are part of a wider Berghaus collection of new apparel for four-season hiking, that also includes high performance shell, softshell and legwear. Alongside the established Extrem range for climbing, the new products bring more technical fabrics and features to Berghaus’ core category.

Summit-Nomad Down Jacket (suggested retail price – SRP – £300)

The Summit-Nomad is a versatile new pocket-sized down jacket, providing warmth while on the move, or taking a break on the trail. The jacket delivers a high level of insulation at a low weight, thanks to a combination of 800 fill power hydrophobic goose down and Berghaus’ pioneering Reflect Technology. It’s all wrapped in a lightweight, durable ripstop nylon, and features include:

  • An insulated fixed hood
  • Internal zipped chest pocket and two zipped hand pockets for essentials and to keep digits warm
  • Elasticated cuffs to keep out the wind
  • Drawcord adjustment at the hem to ensure the right fit.

The men’s jacket weighs 480g in large and a women’s in 12 weighs 420g. When not in use, the Summit-Nomad can be packed into its own pocket and neatly stored away.

Trail-Nomad Synthetic Down Jacket (SRP £190)

The Trail-Nomad Synthetic Down Jacket brings loft and warmth without the bulk, to keep people outside in comfort for longer. High performance Thermore Ecodown Fibers LOFT synthetic insulation mimics traditional down, but keeps the weight low, courtesy of fibres spun from 100% recycled plastic bottles. Berghaus has added a snug hood with an internal cord to adjust and make sure it stays put when the wind picks up. Other features include:

  • Two zipped lower hand pockets and an internal zipped chest pocket
  • Low-profile elasticated cuffs that don’t get in the way, while keeping draughts at bay
  • Cord adjustment at the hem for ensuring the right fit.

Other new insulated jackets in the range for autumn/winter 2024 include the men’s Ridge-Nomad Hybrid Jacket (SRP £230), which features a combination of hydrophobic duck down around the chest and midriff, and Thermore Ecodown Fibers LOFT synthetic insulation in the arms, shoulders and hood. The popular men’s and women’s Tephra Stretch Reflect Hoody (SRP £200), Jacket (SRP £190) and Vest (SRP £150) also feature in the full Berghaus autumn/winter 2024 collection, which is now available at www.berghaus.com and from selected specialist outdoor retailers.
