Red Bull-backed livestream skydive takes off from Nottinghamshire

A skydiving event from Langar Airfield in Nottinghamshire has brought an outdoor adventure experience to a large live digital audience.

Streamer Morgan ‘Angry Ginge’ Burtwistle completed a jump from 13,000 feet alongside Red Bull athlete Dani Roman, with the flight, freefall and parachute descent broadcast live. According to the event’s organisers, more than 26,000 people watched the stream.

Adventure reaches a new audience

The jump followed a challenge linked to Burtwistle’s Twitch subscriber count. The broadcast included the aircraft’s climb to altitude and the subsequent descent, taking viewers through an experience normally seen in edited footage.

For outdoor and adventure sports, the event illustrates how digital creators and established athletes can introduce specialist activities to audiences who might not ordinarily follow them.

Skydiving and live coverage

Red Bull athlete Dani Roman joined Burtwistle for the jump, which took place at Langar Airfield. Organisers described it as the first UK skydive to be livestreamed in full by a British creator. That historical claim has not been independently verified and should be attributed to the organisers.

The event also highlights the importance of experienced professionals and appropriate safety arrangements in aerial adventure activities. The report is about the organised event, not a guide to undertaking a skydive.
