Lighter Trekking for Darker Days with LOWA

As autumn brings wetter trails and shorter days, LOWA has introduced the Explorer GTX Mid, a lightweight trekking boot designed to combine the comfort of an approach shoe with the support and durability of hiking footwear.

Lightcell cushioning for autumn adventures

The Explorer GTX Mid is the first LOWA model to feature the brand’s Lightcell PU technology. LOWA says the formulation combines the durability of polyurethane with the cushioning associated with EVA trainers, supporting comfort over longer days on the trail.

Designed for woodland walks, muddy paths and more technical mountain routes, the boot features a waterproof, breathable GORE-TEX lining for changing conditions.

Fit, grip and protection

A tapered toe box and down-to-the-toe lacing allow the fit to be adjusted, while LOWA’s XLacing Light system anchors the tongue to reduce pressure points. The upper combines suede leather and textile for protection and flexibility.

Underfoot, a Vibram Trac Control outsole uses 5mm lugs for traction on wet leaves, loose ground and muddy trails. A full rand and heel protector add protection against rock and scree.

Repairable construction

Manufactured in Germany, the Explorer GTX Mid has a cemented construction that allows resoling, potentially extending the useful life of the footwear. The Explorer GTX range also includes a low-cut shoe version.
