Montane takes renowned ‘Secret Sessions’ on tour

Montane has taken its highly sought after ‘Secret Sessions’ on tour, after they became the fastest selling and most popular events at the Kendal Mountain Festival over recent years.

Building upon the successful festival-style format, Montane’s Secret Sessions feature a mystery speaker, in what are one-of-a-kind, never to be repeated events. In the 60-minute talks, speakers offer insight, expert comment, and share untold tales from their experiences. The sessions have become a staple of the Kendal Mountain Festival calendar and are delivered to sell-out crowds each year.

The 2023 touring sessions will follow the same format as those at Kendal Mountain Festival and will take place at a series of intimate venues in the North of England. The Montane Secret Sessions will first stop at Skipton’s Alexander’s Grand Café, before heading to Atkinson’s in Lancaster, Fold Coffee in Kendal, and the Taproom in Manchester.

With a series of mystery speakers, the sessions will take place between February 1st and 5th 2023, with tickets in high demand and some shows already sold out. The events start at 7pm, with food and drinks on offer beforehand, and the ‘in conversation’ style event begins at 8pm, lasting for around one hour. Attendees can also meet the guest after the show.

Kendal Mountain Festival Director, Steve Scott, said: “I’m delighted that one of the fastest selling events at Kendal Mountain Festival, our popular Secret Sessions, are finally going on tour in collaboration with Montane, in what promises great conversations with our fabulous surprise guests, in a lovely venue.”

Montane’s Global Marketing Manager, Matthew Hickman, added: “This announcement is a hugely exciting next step for our unique and record-breaking Secret Sessions. It offers the opportunity to share untold stories from renowned adventurers in what are one-time-only, never-to-be-repeated events. The hugely inspiring talks provide key pieces of insight to embolden audience members to break new boundaries and find their unknown. The overwhelmingly positive reception received at Kendal Mountain Festival over recent years further reiterates the ever-growing interest in the outdoors, as well as the increased appetite for taking on bold challenges in nature.”

The news comes after The Montane Secret Sessions sold out all 240 tickets in record time ahead of last year’s Kendal Mountain Festival.
