EOCA Brings the Outdoor Industry to the Heart of the Climate Conversation During London Climate Action Week 2026

The European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) is stepping firmly into the climate spotlight this June, hosting a series of high-impact events throughout London Climate Action Week 2026 (LCAW). Following a presence at EU Green Week in Brussels, the EOCA team heads to the UK capital for a packed programme designed to connect the outdoor community with meaningful climate action.

Event Highlights

1% for the Planet Volunteer Hackathon

Monday 22 June | 15:00–17:30 BST | x+why Fivefields, London

In partnership with 1% for the Planet and presented by The Social Society, EOCA kicks off the week with a skills-based volunteer hackathon. Environmental partners will present real-world challenges — from shaping fundraising narratives to launching new initiatives — and attendees will collaborate in fast-paced teams to develop actionable solutions. In just 75 minutes, charities leave with clear plans, and volunteers leave knowing their expertise has created lasting impact.

1% for the Planet Session

Wednesday 24 June | 18:00–21:00 BST | Protein Studios, Shoreditch

EOCA joins 1% for the Planet as a chosen environmental partner for this community-focused evening. Designed to inspire environmental action and grow the movement locally, the session offers a casual, meaningful space for businesses and individuals committed to conservation to connect. Limited guest passes are available by contacting [email protected].

The Future of National Parks

Thursday 25 June | 19:30–22:30 BST | Arc’teryx Piccadilly Store, London

EOCA brings together Campaign for National Parks, National Park City Foundation, and brand partners Pertex and Arc’teryx for a compelling panel discussion on the future of National Parks as environmental, sporting, and cultural landscapes. Speakers include:

  • Rose O’Neill – Chief Executive, Campaign for National Parks
  • Mark Cridge – Executive Director, National Park City Foundation
  • Andy Laycock – Brand Manager, Pertex
  • Dan Yates – Executive Director of Conservation, EOCA

The conversation will tackle critical questions: Are current protections enough? How can National Parks become engines of climate resilience? What role does the outdoor community — and cities — have to play in biodiversity protection?
