Teva, the iconic outdoor footwear brand rooted in exploration and self-expression, has announced a new partnership with the European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) and the It’s Great Out There Coalition, including its inclusion-focused initiative, Opening Up The Outdoors (OUTO). This collaboration brings together leading voices across the outdoor community to advance a shared vision of a more responsible and resilient outdoor sector.
Grounded in its purpose to push people to play outside, Teva’s partnership with EOCA and the It’s Great Out There Coalition reflects a natural alignment between protecting the outdoors and inspiring more people to experience it. Together, the organisations aim to preserve natural environments that make outdoor experiences possible, while ensuring those experiences are accessible, inclusive, and beneficial for all.
“At Teva, the outdoors is our playground — a space for freedom and exploration. Through our partnerships with EOCA and the It’s Great Out There Coalition, we’re taking concrete steps to help protect these spaces and make them accessible to more people.” — Liselotte Van Hoof, Sr. Marketing Manager EMEA at Teva.
EOCA and the It’s Great Out There Coalition currently work in close collaboration as industry partners, aligning conservation efforts with initiatives that encourage responsible outdoor participation. Teva’s partnership strengthens this ecosystem, connecting environmental protection with human connection to nature, encouraging more people to get outside, while ensuring those places are protected for generations to come.
“This partnership brings together organisations that share a genuine commitment to the outdoors. Working alongside Teva and IGOT allows EOCA to strengthen the connection between protecting the outdoors and helping more people experience it. When the industry comes together in this way, the impact goes further than any one organisation could achieve alone.” —Jordan Jones, Head of Communications at EOCA Conservation
“In a world where people are increasingly disconnected, time in nature has become one of the most powerful antidotes to modern life. It restores balance, perspective, and wellbeing. Through this partnership with Teva, we’re not only protecting the places that make these experiences possible, but also opening them up to more people. Because a deeper human connection to nature is essential if we want to see it valued and protected for the future.” — Margo de Lange, Secretary General at the It’s Great Out There Coalition
The three pillars of impact
This partnership is built on three complementary pillars, each reflecting the strengths and focus of Teva, EOCA, and the IGOT Coalition:
1. Protecting the Places Where We Play (Teva)
Starting in 2025, Teva partnered with Leave No Trace, supporting their mission to protect trails, campsites, parks, and waterways. Through stewardship, education, and hands-on programmes, Teva fosters a deeper human connection with nature, encouraging people to explore responsibly while protecting Earth’s playgrounds for future adventurers.
2. Investing in Nature and Wild Places (EOCA)
EOCA supports and funds grassroots conservation, protection, and regeneration projects globally. By preserving biodiversity and restoring wild places, EOCA ensures that the natural environments we care for remain protected for future generations. The organisation also represents the outdoor community at a political level, advocating for stronger commitments to nature conservation and restoration.
3. Inclusive Access to the Outdoors (It’s Great Out There Coalition & OUTO)
The It’s Great Out There Coalition inspires and supports people to get active outdoors, promoting physical and mental wellbeing while raising awareness of the societal benefits of outdoor activity. As part of this coalition, OUTO works to address systemic barriers to participation. Founded in 2021, OUTO envisions an outdoor community where diversity thrives, equity is the norm, anti-racism is foundational, and accessibility is universal. Together, It’s Great Out There Coalition and OUTO are driving meaningful progress toward a more inclusive outdoor industry.
A shared vision for the future
This partnership reflects a growing commitment across the outdoor sector to align business success with environmental stewardship and social responsibility. By combining Teva’s purpose-driven ethos with EOCA’s conservation expertise and the It’s Great Out There Coalition’s mission to get more people outside, responsibly and inclusively. The collaboration aims to create lasting, positive impact for both people and the planet.
