Abbie Robinson bags Gold for Team GB in Paraclimbing World Cup

Paraclimber and #TeamMontane athlete, Abbie Robinson, has secured her eighth gold medal with a win at the Paraclimbing World Cup.

The twenty-four-year-old, three-time world champion, fought off fierce competition to win first place in the women’s B3 climb, pulling off some intricate moves with pace.

Representing team GB at the tournament, the Sunderland-born climber took on the hot and sunny conditions of Innsbruck, Austria with relative ease over the two-day event held by The International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) on Monday 12th and Tuesday 13th June.

Speaking of the win, Abbie said: “I’ve had a great week in Innsbruck for my first international competition of the season. I felt strong coming into qualifications on day one and managed to qualify in joint first, topping both of my routes. I felt focused heading into finals, so I was really pleased to be able to come out and top my route, taking the win in front of a psyched crowd. The whole team performed brilliantly, with seven of our athletes making finals and four of us coming away with medals. I now move on to Villars for my next world cup, and I’m feeling ready to show off all of the hard work I’ve put in this past year and fight it out again on the wall!”
