Outdoor cooking, camping and bushcraft brand Petromax has added two new axes to its range. The Petromax outdoor axes — the Forest Axe and Carving Axe — both feature forged steel heads and ash wood handles, combining durability and power with designs intended to enable precise control.
Petromax Forest Axe
The hand-forged Petromax Forest Axe is designed for precise and powerful woodworking in the forest, garden and at camp. Its well-balanced size offers a practical alternative to a large axe: compact enough for a backpack, yet powerful enough for demanding jobs.
The axe head is made from forged C60 steel for durability, reliable sharpness and long-lasting quality. Its treated ash handle sits securely in the hand, absorbs impacts and supports controlled work during extended use.
Whether limbing, splitting kindling and small logs, or chopping wood for the fireplace, campfire or outdoor kitchen, the Forest Axe is suitable for a wide range of applications. These extend to bushcraft, survival situations, and garden and landscape maintenance. The axe is supplied with a matching leather sheath to protect the blade. It measures 50cm and weighs 1.001kg.
Petromax Carving Axe
The hand-forged Petromax Carving Axe combines precise handling with traditional craftsmanship. Its compact size and balanced weight make it suited to fine woodworking and controlled work in the field, for beginners as well as experienced bushcrafters and other outdoor enthusiasts.
Made from forged C60 steel, the durable axe head delivers clean cuts and is easy to resharpen. A double-bevelled edge enables controlled cuts across different techniques. The short handle is made from treated ash, fitting comfortably in the hand and allowing precise power transmission.
For small carving work, removing bark, shaping contours or splitting kindling, the Carving Axe is designed for a wide range of applications. It is supplied with a matching leather sheath, measures 30.5cm and weighs 529g.
