Smartwool, OUTO, and Ellis Brigham Champion Diversity in the Outdoors with London Community Event

Titled ‘Healing with Nature and Embracing Diversity’, the event brings together changemakers and outdoor enthusiasts to explore equitable access to the outdoors

Smartwool, in partnership with not-for-profit initiative OUTO and leading outdoor retailer Ellis Brigham, is hosting a day-long event in London aimed at promoting inclusion and diversity in the outdoors.

The event, Healing with Nature and Embracing Diversity, will feature Tinuke Oyediran, an OUTO Changemaker and adventure speaker dedicated to reshaping narratives around belonging in nature.

On Saturday 24th May, Tinuke will guide participants through a morning hike at the picturesque Hampstead Heath to discover the joy and healing found in nature. Following the hike and interactive games in the heath, attendees will enjoy a communal lunch in Covent Garden before diving into a thought-provoking roundtable discussion led by OUTO changemakers.

Each attendee will receive a Smartwool tote bag filled with socks, a notebook, and an Ellis Brigham store voucher.

Together, these organisations champion the belief that nature is for everyone, celebrating cultural differences and advocating for inclusion and accessibility.

Panel Discussion: Embracing Diversity in Nature

Keme Nzerem, co-founder of OUTO, will be joined by two OUTO changemakers: Tinuke Oyediran, adventure speaker, and Toni-Ann Murphy, founder of TouchGrassCIC, an organisation offering queer women and non-binary people safe, welcoming spaces to connect with nature and each other.

The panel will tackle key topics such as the role of nature in emotional well-being, barriers to access faced by underrepresented groups, and practical steps toward fostering inclusivity in outdoor communities.

The conversation reflects the core values of the partnership between Smartwool and OUTO: celebrating cultural differences and making outdoor experiences accessible for all.
