Gear Test : Sidas Run Anatomic Comfort Socks

Sidas, the well known Footwear accessory & insole manufacturer also have a huge range of socks. Sidas have insole, sock & accessory products for markets such as SnowSports, Running, Cycling, Outdoor and Lifestyle.
Recently the team at Sidas UK sent us a few Running socks to try out, so we gave them a good wear, wash, wear again test to see how they stack up.

The Sidas Run Anatomic Comfort
First impressions are good and they seem very technical with asymmetric toes, flex zones, Y-heel gore and some nice light cushioning under the toes and heel.
The socks are Left and Right specific, but be careful here, as many socks now have an L or R on them, but aren’t actually made specifically for either foot, it’s just a cheap marketing ploy. Your feet are different and therefore a top end sock should actually be different for each foot, like your shoes.
Some technical socks can be tricky to get on, but these were pretty straightforward and once on my feet they felt very comfortable and close fitting. You can see how well the asymmetric toe box fits around the toes.

Next, time to Run….
Needless to say, I wasn’t disappointed. It was a warm day, covering just over 6km on mixed terrain. The socks kept the moisture away from my skin, dried very quickly from the excessive sweating and left me wanting another pair. I find that’s usually a win for me, if I take a sock off and put it straight into the wash so that it’s ready the next day, it means I’m a fan.
Wash, wear, wash….
I like to test socks after washing them. Why? Well, nothing is better than a new sock out of the packaging, but for my investment I want a similar feeling each time and to know they wash well. The only main difference I noticed after washing (at 30 degrees with detergent and fabric softener) was that they felt even softer than when I wore them new and the fit was just as good. Therefore, there was no wash performance loss on these. Sure, it was just one wash, but when you’ve tested as many socks as I have you can tell a lot about a sock’s construction after one wash.
The verdict…
If you are looking for a decent pair of Running socks with some light cushioning then you certainly won’t be disappointed in these. Definitely a good job done by Sidas on these socks and I look forward to trying a few more in the range.
