Black Diamond overhauls headlamp range with new Megawatt for autumn 2026

Black Diamond Equipment has introduced a substantial update to its lighting range for autumn 2026, bringing new and redesigned headlamps aimed at climbing, running, skiing and camping after dark.

The collection is led by the new Megawatt, supported by redesigned Storm, Storm+ and Cosmo models, and an updated Spot. According to the brand, the release represents its biggest headlamp refresh in years.

Lighting for different outdoor uses

The range is positioned to cover a broad set of requirements, from straightforward campsite illumination to approaches before dawn and technical outings extending beyond sunset. Rather than treat headlamps as a single equipment category, Black Diamond is emphasising the different needs of casual and specialist users.

That distinction matters to retailers advising customers on battery management, light output, weather protection and ease of operation. Those considerations often vary significantly between a campsite, a trail run and a mountain approach.

A merchandising opportunity

The release provides outdoor shops with a refreshed product story ahead of shorter winter days. It also creates opportunities for staff training and category merchandising, particularly where headlamps sit alongside climbing equipment, trail footwear, packs and campsite essentials.

Retailers should consult individual product specifications for output, battery format, runtime and recommended applications rather than assume all models share the same capabilities.
