UYN to unveil footwear and technical apparel at OTS
UYN, Unleash Your Nature, is set to unveil its latest footwear and technical apparel at the Outdoor Trade Show (OTS).
Enter the post-synthetic era. This is the UYN message for the 2023 edition of the Outdoor Trade Show, in Liverpool, on June 13-15.
The range of new pieces will focus on hiking in nature, with nature. The UYN BIOTREK line of socks, made from biomaterials that are derived from nature and empowered via biotechnology.
Bringing the Trekking Five Socks to the fore, the socks with five toes are made with High-5 technology and act as a second-skin, adapting to the natural shape of your foot like a glove. The individual toe functionality prevents friction and correctly spaces and aligns toes within the shoe.
UYN’s new Biotrek Socks, in addition to being made with a sophisticated combination of biomaterials, have been designed for ultimate comfort and support. Zerocuff technology reduces swelling and boosts blood circulation. Its anatomically shaped footbed and interior ankle guards also aid in reducing pressure build up on longer hikes.
New for SS24, UYN’s Self Layer apparel pieces introduce a new concept in technical clothing. Made with sustainability at its core, it uses only naturally derived materials, no synthetic fibres and with an innovative sewing pattern to reduce material waste. In fact, each garment produces less than four grams of waste.
Designed for outdoor activities, but also for those who rely on the performance of technical garments every day, the Self Layer is available in four versions inspired by the elements of fire, air, water and earth: SparkCross, AeroCross, HydroCross and TerraCross.
UYN’s new proposal in footwear takes inspiration from nature to create technical models for both metropolitan adventures and outdoor explorations. The sock-engineered upper without seams, which is made possible by a technique exclusive to the brand, respects the natural shape of the foot and guarantees a superior level of comfort. Three core product lines will be available in the new year, the Aethon, Arion and Artax.
The Shockie is a brand-new sock-shoe made from Merino wool with a 5mm protective layer – an ideal lightweight companion for use at home, in the gym or on longer adventures where weight and size are a premium.
Each garment was produced and developed in Asola, Italy, with a mission to demonstrate that in the technical and sports sector it is possible to reduce dependence on synthetic fibres from fossil fuels, without sacrificing performance.
Following studies at the AREAS (Academy for Research and Engineering in Apparel and Sport), the modern research laboratory that will be officially opened to the public in October, UYN has developed new-generation bio-materials starting with vegetable ingredients, enhanced through the brand’s proprietary technologies: resistance, breathability, elasticity, fast drying and odour neutralisation. These characteristics of UYN’s bio-technological products are the perfect combination of sustainability and performance.
