Rab welcomes Simon Lorenzi to global athlete team

British outdoor brand Rab has welcomed Belgian climber Simon Lorenzi to its global athlete team.

Lorenzi is known for completing five 9A boulders: Soudain Seul, Alphane, Burden of Dreams, Return of the Sleepwalker and Shaolin.

His current projects include Megatron 9A in the United States, first climbed by Shawn Raboutou, and King Kang 9b+ in Flatanger, Norway, which was first climbed by Jules Marchaland in September 2026.

Patrick Baars said: “We’re incredibly excited to welcome Simon to the Rab team. His achievements speak for themselves, but what really excites us is what comes next. Simon is constantly looking for the next challenge and pushing his own limits. That mentality feels very natural for Rab, and we’re looking forward to supporting him on his journey.”

Lorenzi said: “I’m glad to start working with a brand that have such a technicity and always work to make the best products possible. Pushing the limits of what’s possible and giving our best are two commons traits that we share. It feels great to start a collaboration with a brand that really knows what’s performance is about and I’m psyched to see what’s future will bring to us.”

Rab is owned by Equip Outdoor Technologies Ltd.
