dryrobe launch adaptive robe at World Para Surfing Championships

dryrobe, the world’s leading outdoor change robe brand, has worked closely with the para-sports community to launch the dryrobe Adapt.

A first of its kind adaptive robe which has been designed by dryrobe with wheelchair users in mind.

The product was first unveiled at the 2023 ISA World Para Surfing Championships earlier this month of which dryrobe was an official sponsor.

The launch of the dryrobe Adapt is part of the brand’s passion for keeping people warm and dry when getting active outdoors and making water sports such as surfing and swimming more accessible for everyone. The Adapt is now available to purchase online.

Tailored to keep any wheelchair user warm and dry, the dryrobe Adapt is a groundbreaking garment that consists of an upper and lower half that zip together to protect its wearer from the elements.

Designed to be used as a long coat rather than a traditional changing robe, the detachable lower half allows the dryrobe Adapt to be worn as a ‘sleeping bag’ in colder climates, while the upper half can be used as a separate jacket on warmer days.

Maintaining all the high-performance materials as the company’s signature product, the dryrobe Advance, the dryrobe Adapt is crafted with 100% recycled fabrics.

It has a waterproof and windproof outer shell made from recycled nylon, as well as a warm and unique inner lining made from recycled polyester.

The fabrics are coated with eco-friendly BIONIC-FINISH ECO water-repellent technology, which reduces the need for washing and extends the lifespan of the garment.

The dryrobe Adapt also features minimal sealed seam construction which enhances the durability and performance of the product.

The dryrobe Adapt is designed to fit any body shape and size, with a range of features that ensure a comfortable and convenient fit for all wheelchair users.

These include a drawcord adjustable fleece-lined hood, deep fleece-lined external pockets, an internal waterproof zip entry pocket and bright red drawcords for ease of use for the visually impaired. The dryrobe Adapt also comes with its own ‘stash bag’ which can be used for storage and transport.

The dryrobe Adapt is available to buy from www.dryrobe.com and is priced at £165.

Following the launch of the dryrobe Adapt, dryrobe founder, Gideon Bright, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to launch the dryrobe Adapt, which is part of our commitment to making our products – and the water sports we love – more accessible to everyone. We’re incredibly strong believers that anyone should be able to enjoy getting active outdoors and we’ve worked closely with the para-sports community to develop this product.

“The ISA World Para Surfing Championships is the biggest event in the Para Surfing calendar, attracting hundreds of competitors from around the world, and we’re delighted to launch the product as part of our sponsorship of the competition.”The dryrobe Adapt becomes the brand’s second major launch this year following the dryrobe Lite, a super lightweight, packable change robe, made from cutting edge high-performance eco fabrics.

Having become B Corp Certified, dryrobe aims to ensure its products meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance. The company is a proud partner of several charitable organisations including the RNLI and The Wave Project.

Since its establishment in 2012, dryrobe has been a trailblazer in the change robe market and is trusted by elite athletes and teams from all over the world, including Team GB at the Olympic and Paralympic Games. For more information visit www.dryrobe.com
