Rab increases support for Cirque Series mountain running race

British outdoor brand Rab (owned by Equip Outdoor Technologies Ltd.) have increased their support for the famous Cirque Series, a globally renowned mountain running event organised by professional skier and mountaineer, Julian Carr. This year’s series includes eight stops, with the first race taking place in Brighton, UT on 16th July and one European stop in Engelberg, Switzerland on 24th September.
This is the first time that a Cirque Series race will take place overseas. The series will be attended by some of Rab’s best mountain running athletes, such as Chris Fisher and Amy David.
The Cirque Series is redefining what mountain running is all about. Participants will rally up windswept ridges and glacial cirques to towering peaks, then power down a quad-burning descent and break the tape into a festival of live music, food, drink, and vendor tents. Throughout July, August and September, there will be stops in Brighton, Alyeska, Snowbird, Alta, Targhee, A’Basin and Engelberg. In addition, the series includes the MAX VERT OCTOBER Challenge. This contest will challenge runners and hikers to accomplish as much elevation gain as possible in the month of October, with Rab athlete Chris Fisher holding last year’s record.
Annalee Loomer, Marketing Manager at Rab US, said: “We couldn’t be more excited about this partnership. Being a mountain race for mountain people, the Cirque Series is a perfect fit for Rab. It’s a place for folks to come together, not take themselves too seriously and sharing a good time being outside. It’s also a great opportunity to talk about our Skyline mountain running range which is designed for moving quickly through the mountains.”
