Ocean Bottle x GROUNDTRUTH® Announce Bottle & Bottle Carrier Collaboration
Ocean Bottle x GROUNDTRUTH® become partners in arms through their shared mission to advocate for a meaningful shift in the consumption and disposal of plastics.

GROUNDTRUTH®, a purpose-driven company that operates at the intersection of material innovation, performance design applied to travel goods and luggage, and impact filmmaking, connected with Ocean Bottle while fundraising for the final shoot of their two-year-in-the-making documentary, KULEANA, due for release in early 2026.
Instant connection through their shared mission to tackle single-use plastics through a circular design approach, while simultaneously using storytelling to inspire behaviour change, evolved into an opportunity to collaborate on a thoughtfully designed bottle carrier bag.
The Ocean Bottle x Groundtruth bottle bag makes water on the go even more convenient, reducing reliance on single-use plastic. The front water bottle pocket has an adjustable bungee cord system enabling a secure fit for bottles, whilst being designed to house the Ocean Bottle Original 500ml through to the 1L version. The main section provides enough space for ‘everyday carry’ items, such as a mobile phone, while a smaller, secure pocket is perfect for earbuds and keys. Crafted from 100% recycled materials, this piece can be worn or carried in multiple ways, using the adjustable cross-body strap or a second woven rope grab handle.
Each Bottle Carrier bag repurposes 16 post-consumer PET bottles, preventing them from entering waterways. Additionally, for every bag sold, Groundtruth will fund the removal of 1,000 plastic bottles, taking them out of circulation, mirroring Ocean Bottle’s commitment of 1 for 1000 for every product sold.
The bag also features GROUNDTRUTH’S groundbreaking patent-pending GT-OCO-C02® hardware, made from 100% recycled polypropylene and captured CO2 emissions.
Will Pearson, Co-founder, Ocean Bottle, said, “Our approach to tackling the ocean plastics crisis couldn’t be more aligned. It is common to find kindred spirits who are vocal about plastic’s environmental impact on the ocean’s ecosystem, but less so to cross paths with brands taking tangible action at the root of the problem. We are proud to partner with GROUNDTRUTH on this product collaboration and to be supporting Groundtruth’s amplification of Kuleana when it is released next Spring.
KULEANA
Narrated by Woody Harrelson, KULEANA is a cinematic journey into the heart of the plastic crisis, shot on location in Hawai`i and highlighting the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, the largest accumulation of marine debris in the world, spanning an area twice the size of Texas. The remote Hawaiian Islands now sit at the frontline of this growing catastrophe. Told through the eyes of elite athletes – surf legends, freedivers, and baseball stars – KULEANA uncovers shocking new science from leading oceanographers and reveals the invisible impact of microplastics.
KULEANA is more than a film – it’s a rallying call to responsibility. And an invitation to join a new kind of movement: one that reaches across generations, borders, and belief systems to awaken the power in all of us to protect what we love.
KULEANA – The Impact Campaign
In Partnership with Ocean Conservancy
All proceeds from KULEANA will directly fund an extensive, interactive impact campaign led by GROUNDTRUTH and Ocean Conservancy. By taking a multi-pronged approach and harnessing the reach of over 8 million followers through our participants, the objective of this campaign is to drive a global movement around ocean protection and plastic reduction.
The campaign will join forces with Ocean Conservancy’s new initiative, Protect Where We Play, which focuses on uniting sports and entertainment fans to support ocean conservation. The campaign leverages the influence of athletes, artists, and venues to engage millions in protecting the ocean, which is vital for climate stability and the moments we cherish. For over 50 years, Ocean Conservancy has been the world’s leading ocean conservation organisation, uniting science, people, and policy to protect our ocean, today and for generations to come.
Our impact campaign includes policy screenings with key U.S. government leaders and environmental think tanks, a wide-reaching Impact Screening Tour in collaboration with aligned organisations, and in-person and virtual Q&A events across key territories.
We will also launch a targeted digital marketing and press campaign to amplify the film’s message and reach new audiences. To engage younger generations, we are developing educational toolkits and specific film cuts for use in schools and universities across the U.S., offering inspiration and tangible solutions for reducing single-use plastics.
At its core, the campaign is designed to translate awareness into action – mobilising audiences through the combined power of sport, science, and storytelling.
