Nikwax reveals Net Zero Roadmap
By 2030 Nikwax aims to achieve a 50% reduction in scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions
Leading PFAS-free aftercare and waterproofing specialist Nikwax has announced its goal to reach net zero by 2040 by reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 90% and offsetting the remaining 10% by purchasing carbon credits from its longstanding partner, the World Land Trust.
This comes after Nikwax recently revealed it successfully reached its scope 1 and scope 2 carbon emission reduction goals 18 months earlier than originally planned.
By 2030 Nikwax aims to achieve a 50% reduction in scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions through the following:
- 100% renewable energy
- 100% company-owned ULEV
- 80% reduction in product packaging emissions
- 50% reduction in waste emissions
Brian Davidson, Nikwax CEO, said: “Based on our strategically planned roadmap we have set realistic goals to achieve net zero by 2040. Company-wide we aim to inform, inspire, and motivate others from across the outdoor industry to take action to protect the planet and people. We are confident that collectively we will meet this deadline whilst continuing to deliver high-performance products for our customers.”
