Coleman unveils its new range of Darwin BlackOut tents for 2025

Survival of the Well Rested

Everyone knows getting a good night’s sleep is the key ingredient to enjoying your active camping trip to the fullest. That’s why, this year, Coleman is bringing its proprietary light-blocking technology to the iconic Darwin tents. With three new models that incorporate the brand’s BlackOut Bedroom technology, you’ll be sure to be well-rested for the day’s adventures with the new Darwin BlackOut range.

Coleman’s BlackOut Bedroom technology is a revolutionary sleep system for every type of camper. It uses specially designed tent fabric that blocks up to 99% of light from entering the sleeping area, making it easy to enjoy the most luxurious of lie ins on the campsite as you won’t be woken up by the dawn light. Not only does it ensure a long, restful sleep, Coleman’s BlackOut Bedroom technology also keeps the inside of the tent up to 5°C cooler during the day, helping to create a more comfortable sleeping environment.

Darwin 2 BlackOut

The smallest of the new additions is the Darwin 2 BlackOut tent. A compact dome tent that is perfect for multi-stop trips and wild camping expeditions, it can sleep up to two people. Its fibreglass pole structure keeps weight down, makes pitching quick and easy, and ensures this tent will stand up to windy, stormy weather. The polyester, PU coated flysheet is fire retardant and provides SPF50+ protection from the sun. Fully taped seams and a hydrostatic head rating of 4,500mm will also keep unpredictable weather at bay, so your long nights sleep doesn’t go interrupted. The tent packs down into a compact size, and weighs just 3.2kg, meaning it’s a fantastic option for lightweight campers.

Darwin 3+ BlackOut

The Darwin 3+ BlackOut benefits from BlackOut Bedroom technology, a quick and easy to pitch fibreglass pole structure, fully-taped seams, an impressive hydrostatic head rating and UV Guard SPF50+ sun protection. However, it offers a larger sleeping space which can accommodate up to three people, making it a great option for larger groups or those who like more sleeping space. It also features a peaked roof which makes it easier to sit up inside and a larger porch area which is ideal for storing wet or muddy kit after a long day in the outdoors. At only 5.2kg, the Darwin 3+ BlackOut also boasts excellent lightweight and portable credentials.

Darwin 4+ BlackOut

The largest in Coleman’s new Darwin BlackOut range is the Darwin 4+ BlackOut. This tent provides sleeping space with BlackOut Bedroom technology for up to four people and a roomy porch area ensures there will be ample space to store for everyone’s kit, making it a great choice for group camp outs. Despite being the biggest tent in the new range, the Darwin 4+ BlackOut won’t weigh you down at 6.7kg and is compact when stored in its carry bag, making it ideal for group trips where pack size needs to be low.
