Adventures Away from Home Fund 2024 announced
There is Global Outdoor Learning Day on the 21st November - use the tag #GlobalOutdoorLearningDay with your social postings and use the day to promote your provision

UKYouth have just announced that there is another Adventures Away from Home Fund 2024. The time line is tight (Tuesday 3rd December at 11am) so get moving if you are interested.
We have the Adventure for All conference coming up 6th-8th December at White Hall Centre, nr Buxton. The Theme is Idealism to Pragmatism – How to make Accessible Activities work in All Centres. If you want to make your provision more accessible then this will be a really good place to start.
It is a busy one! Especially for those interested in championing outdoor learning to be an integral part of UK society. There is Global Outdoor Learning Day on the 21st November – use the tag #GlobalOutdoorLearningDay with your social postings and use the day to promote your provision.
Also on the 21st we are launching High Quality Outdoor Learning 2025. Building upon the foundations of the previous HQOL & HQOE documents, this truly awesome piece of work has something for everyone – watch this space!!
And if that wasn’t enough, we have the IOL Outdoor Learning Strategic Thinking event on that day too! The broadest spectrum of outdoor learning will be discussed by passionate people whio will then formulate a plan to raise the profile and understanding of how outdoor learning can make a positive contribution to UK society.
Then the next day, Friday 22nd November, the Review of the Existing National Curriculum and Statutory Assessment System in England consultation closes. If you want to get outdoor learning integrated within the English curriculum then this is the time to make your views known. The IOL will be submitting it’s thoughts on the subject. But sometimes numbers are important so please make your view count!
And finally… in case you didn’t get to see it, we had an excellent webinar last week on “Starting out with curriculum based outdoor learning – How to use outdoor learning to teach curriculum content” from Dawn Thomas and Anne Thompson representing the IOL Specialist group – Curriculumn Based Outdoor Learning and Field Studies I know! It’s not a catchy title! But if you are a teacher and looking to start teach your curriculum outdoors then I highly recommend you watch the recording.
