Montane renews a design classic for 2024

British outdoor clothing and equipment brand, Montane, has unveiled its newly redeveloped range of Trailblazer packs with advancements in responsible design.

Constructed in a way that remains true to the Montane principle of Timeless Design, the new Trailblazer range has been introduced as part of the outdoor brand’s renewed focus on packs as part of the 2024 collection.

Engineered to aid performance, the Trailblazer range introduces eleven new mountain-durable backpacks, from alpine-ready adventure models to versatile daypacks and modular waist packs for fast and light missions. New for this year, the Montane Trailblazer range will include designs with a storage capacity of three litres through to thirty-five litres.

The redeveloped range has been built with adventure in mind and introduces more responsible materials, including the use of Raptor Cross 210D and Raptor Cross Lite 70D 100% Nylon recycled fabric throughout the new designs. Mesh pockets come in the form of Power Mesh which combines recycled nylon with elastane, while shoulder straps and fins found throughout the range are formed using 100% recycled Polyester.

Constructed for durability, the Trailblazer 25L Backpack comes with a reinforced base and lightweight features to stabilise the load. A 3D-moulded foam back panel and COVALENT harness with compression adjustments combine performance with comfort; mapping to the wearers body when moving fast. Meanwhile, the Trailblazer XT 25L and 35L have undergone rigorous testing in mountain environments, taking the durable 210 Denier triple ripstop base fabric of the original Trailblazer to construct a pack designed for abrasive terrain and challenging conditions.
Elsewhere, the feature set of the 3L Trailblazer has been redeveloped for fast and light missions with a pack size designed for the bare essentials. A T-Hook system allows for adaptable storage solutions while the wand pocket and large main pouch provide easy-to-access options. The click and go harness strap and highly breathable air mesh back panel have been constructed for comfort on long days on the trail.

On the redevelopment, Montane’s Marketing Director, Matthew Hickman, commented: “Following the initial launch several years ago, the Trailblazer has become an essential companion for mountain adventures for many. For 2024, we have fully redeveloped this popular pack by introducing recycled materials throughout, and, as part of this, we now offer a wider range of capacities. We know that a pack is an essential piece of equipment, so we build products that endure; this means that we scrutinise our entire process to produce the highest performing gear we can.”

Additional design highlights include new innovative storage options across the range from the Trailblazer 8L through to the Trailblazer 32L, all constructed with ‘timeless design’ principles in mind to deliver a look that fuses performance with a modern aesthetic. For transparency, in-depth material details including third party accreditations, as well as where the packs are produced, have been made available for all products in the range.
