The brand’s flagship hardshell system has been rebuilt with PFAS-free GORE-TEX Pro fabric, revised ventilation, and a new pocket layout. This has been done without compromising the protection it’s known for.
66°North is updating the Tindur GORE-TEX Pro Jacket and Tindur GORE-TEX Pro Pants, its two-piece hardshell system designed for high-output winter activity. Both pieces have been rebuilt using the highest-grade PFAS-free GORE-TEX Pro fabric. They have also been refined with new features based on athlete feedback. Moreover, the updated collection is available from today online and in store.
Tindur GORE-TEX Pro Jacket
The jacket is built in the highest-grade PFAS-free GORE-TEX Pro fabric. It is fully waterproof, windproof, breathable and cut to layer over an insulated mid-layer or a fleece-and-vest combination. There is enough volume to move freely without the shell pulling across the shoulders.
The defining feature of the updated jacket is its large armpit zip vents, designed for fast heat dump during high-output activity. You do not need to stop or remove a layer. Furthermore, the helmet-compatible hood and collar are fully adjustable, offering complete storm protection when conditions demand it. Velcro cuff tabs and an adjustable elastic hem cord keep everything sealed at the extremities.
YKK Aquaguard zips run throughout, placed specifically to work with a backpack harness. Storage is generous: two hand pockets, two external chest pockets, one external pass pocket, one internal zipped security pocket and a large mesh dump pocket for gloves, skins or anything that needs to come off quickly.
Tindur GORE-TEX Pro Pants
The pants use the same PFAS-free GORE-TEX Pro fabric as the jacket, with an articulated cut that allows full range of motion across technical terrain. Thigh vent zips with YKK Aquaguard zips and easy-grip webbing pullers mirror the jacket’s ventilation approach. This is fast to open and effective in use. Two cargo pockets sit accessibly at the thigh for on-mountain storage.
The waistband is fully featured: belt loops, an adjustable internal belt, and loops for optional suspenders give athletes flexibility in how the pants sit and move. At the hem, a lightweight snow gaiter deploys easily. Moreover, it is backed by a reinforced instep patch film to handle the boot abrasion that wears lesser shells out from the inside.
On PFAS-free materials
Both pieces are built with GORE-TEX Pro’s PFAS-free membrane, the highest-grade option in the GORE-TEX range, free from per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances. This update reflects 66°North’s ongoing commitment to reducing the environmental impact of performance outerwear. It does this without compromising on weather protection or durability.
