UK Outdoor Industry Awards 2022 winners are announced

The winners of the UK Outdoor Industry Awards 2022 were presented at the OIA Conference in Sheffield. 

This year, the categories included a new addition ‘Diversity and Inclusion’. Other categories included accessories, backpacks, camping equipment, climbing, clothing, tech accessories, footwear, sleeping and tents/awnings.
The awards process took place initially at the Outdoor Trade Show (OTS) held in Liverpool in June, when the judging panel selected the finalists in each category, these were then put forward to the consumer vote online during July and August.
 
The judging panel comprises experts from the outdoor industry and includes key journalists and retailers. Judges included Nick Hallissey, Deputy Editor, Country WalkingAlex Roddie Editor, Sidetracked and contributing editor, TGO, Tina Collins, Editor, TentLife, Iain Duff, Editor, Camping, Ben Weeks, Senior Writer, Trail, Harriet Cavill, Buyer/Merchandiser, Ellis Brigham and Gary Fine, Category Manager, SportPursuit.
Criteria including innovation, functionality, choice of materials, environmental friendliness, safety and commercial viability were used by the judges to decide on the finalists.  
 
Over 2000 consumers voted online during the Summer. 

The winners across the ten categories are as follows:

Backpacks/Travel Luggage – Osprey – UNLTD™
Camping Equipment – Exped – Ultra 3R
Climbing – Ocun – Bio-Based Dyneema Quick Draws

Diversity & Inclusion – Ordnance Survey – OS Maps
Footwear – La Sportiva -Aequilibrium ST GTX
Sleeping – Therm-a-Rest -Parsec -6c/20F sleeping bag 
Tech Accessories – Zoleo – Location share device
Tent/Awnings – Vango – Apex Compact 200 Tent

From these ten winning products, the panel of expert judges selected the overall ‘Product of the Year’, which is the Rab – Mythic Ultra.

“The Rab Mythic Ultra, it’s a clear leader in terms of technical specification and performance and is incredibly warm for the weight thanks to TILT heat-retaining tech,” said Alex Roddie.

The UK Outdoor Industry Awards is an initiative launched by the Outdoor Industries Association (OIA)
