Kathmandu wins 2024 ISPO Award for Feather Flight

Global outdoor brand, Kathmandu, has been awarded a revered 2024 ISPO Award for its soon-to-launch Feather Flight Carry-On Trolley: one of the lightest carry-on suitcases in its class.

Kathmandu’s Feather Flight Carry-On Trolley is a small but mighty powerhouse, designed to give travellers the largest amount of space for the least amount of weight; the innovation weighs an ultra-light 1.6 kilograms and boasts an impressive 40 litres of internal packing volume, making it one of the lightest bags in its class, globally, for airline travel.

Beyond being Kathmandu’s lightest carry-on ever, the Feather Flight is also super durable, thanks to Kathmandu’s all-new patent-pending exLight exoskeleton hard shell. The triangular, grid-shaped lattice structure, designed specifically for this product, gives the trolley an incredible strength – when considering strength-to-weight ratio – allowing it to withstand impact without affecting its manoeuvrability. Increasing the Trolley’s durability is its main fabric, made from a combination of 93% recycled ripstop nylon and 7% UHMWPE (ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene): an incredibly tough fibre often used to craft personal armour and climbing equipment.

Kathmandu’s General Manager of Product, Karinda Robinson, said: “Kathmandu continues to push the boundaries of product innovation in the textiles industry and our Feather Flight Carry-On Trolley is a strong representation of our commitment to building thoughtfully designed, responsibly made gear.

“We are so proud to present this ultra-light, super durable carry-on solution, and are thrilled for this win. We look forward to seeing travellers, across the globe, turn to the Feather Flight as their trusted travel companion.”

Strengthening the Feather Flight’s status as the perfect travel companion is its functionality. The trolley features a 15″ laptop compartment and zipped pockets, as well as a mono handle that can be adjusted to three different lengths.

Kathmandu’s Feather Flight Carry-On Trolley will be available online and in-store across Europe from March 2025, for RRP £180 / 200€ and in three colourways: Black Stingray, Dark Eddy and Hut Orange.
