Helly Hansen introduces the Odin Lifa Pro Belay Jacket
The world’s leading technical outdoor brand, Helly Hansen, introduces its Odin Lifa Pro Belay Jacket (RRP £400) for Winter 2022, designed to meet the needs of search and rescue professionals working in cold and challenging outdoor conditions.
The Odin collection has been developed over fifteen seasons, leveraging professional feedback to deliver smart, purposeful weather protection in lightweight, functional designs. The Odin Lifa Pro Belay Jacket has been created with feedback from Squamish and Seattle search and rescue professionals who demanded the warmest possible jacket for cold and wet conditions, whilst delivering on breathability and lightweight functionality. To achieve this, the jacket features a unique combination of technologies including LIFA® technology, a proprietary Helly Hansen fibre, used in the garment’s face fabric, together with two types of synthetic down for warmth where it’s needed most. LIFA fibres are inherently lightweight and hydrophobic, achieving everlasting water-repellency without the need for DWR treatment.
Strategically body-mapped, the jacket’s insulation includes Lifaloft Fibreballs and PrimaLoft Cross Core technology, which utilises Aerogel for increased thermal performance. The jacket also uses a Graphene heat conductive lining in its fabric, which helps to equalise skin temperature by sending heat from warmer parts of the body to colder areas. Graphene also increases fabric durability and offers anti-static and odour-neutralising properties.
Optimised for protection in cold and wet weather and lower-activity levels in the outdoors, the men’s jacket includes a hood, collar and cuff adjustments, while the women’s version includes a dropped lining and pleated baffles for extra warmth. Both jackets also include wide storage pockets, as well as multiple adjustments, vents and details that can be adapted for optimal comfort, temperature regulation and functionality on the go.
