Eddie Bauer Men’s Guide Pro Trousers are great for hiking

Eddie Bauer has created a great pair of hiking trousers in the Guide Pro Soft, with plenty of stretch and they are easy to wear, and their technical features are spot on.

A durable water repellent finish (DWR) kept water out. They also dry very fast, have a UPF rating of 50+ and keep out cold winds.

Two-way stretch fabric is great for comfort and mobility.

The detail fabric is soft and feels nice against your skin. The trousers don’t have any of the extra features that other options have, like a microfleece lining in the waistband. I think it’s the most comfortable and practical option.

These trousers breathed well when I was out on the trial and were great on a very wet trip to the Peak District.

Eddie Bauer don’t state that these trousers offer any resistance to the wind, but they stopped the wind on our last trail hike and it was very windy and wet.

Eddie Bauer uses its mid-range durable water repellent (DWR) finish on these trousers. The coating keeps droplets from soaking in right away. As a result, the Guide Pro does well in light rain.

They aren’t waterproof but they dry really fast and when testing them in the Peak District I had no complaints.

These trousers have four pockets, two hand pockets and two zippered, outer-thigh pockets. They carried my phone, keys, wallet and bits of bobs perfectly. The pockets are mesh, which keeps them light and keeps air circulating.

These trousers look good and work well and I even got a comment from my 16-year daughter that I looked cool, now that is a first and most likely a last.

You get what you pay for with hiking trousers and the price against what you get is spot on and worth every penny.

The nylon and spandex fabric is bluesign certified and having your clothes leave you with a more healthy environments to explore sounds good to me.
