Insight Update

The Luminox ICE-SAR 1080 Series is designed to support Search & Rescue (SAR)

Operations of this intrepid unit in the world’s most extreme environments, including volcanic eruptions, avalanches, shipwrecks, mega storms and more.

In a country that has only 4-5 hours of daylight in winter months, visibility in the dark is critical to rescue missions. In these situations, time is of the essence. True to its mission-ready DNA, the 1080 Series features 15 Luminox Light Technology (LLT) tubes. These provide constant night visibility for up to 25 years. This is complemented by the Super-LumiNova® SAR symbol emblazoned on the dial. Charged by natural light during the day, the luminous triangle shines brightly at night. It pays homage to the guardians of the land of ice and fire.

The ICE-SAR 1080 introduces a bold new 45mm case made from CARBONOX™, a lightweight yet ultra-durable material. It is engineered to withstand harsh conditions. Its textured dial adds depth and tactility. Meanwhile, sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating ensures clarity in all environments. Powered by a Swiss Quartz RONDA movement, the watch delivers unwavering accuracy and reliability when needed most.

Paired with a water resistance up to 200 meters, and equipped with a pulsometer scale, it is prepared for even the most demanding aquatic recovery and rescues. On the case back, the four steps of rescue operations — Locate, Access, Stabilise, and Transport (LAST) are engraved. This serves as a constant reminder of the mission.
