Vango’s 2022 Spirit of Adventure

Leading UK outdoor brand, Vango, has unveiled its hotly anticipated range for 2022, with an innovative collection of camping equipment ahead of a year where staycations will remain high on the agenda.

The brand delivers its core brand strapline of ‘Spirit of Adventure’ with its ‘Spirit of Sustainability’ ethos in the release of its new and extended Earth collection – a pioneering recycled collection of tents, sleeping bags, rucksacks, and furniture.

The Earth collection has been created using environmentally friendly fabrics crafted from recycled single-use plastic. Through the expansion of the range in 2022, the brand will recycle a minimum plastic waste equivalent to 8.2 million plastic bottles.

Tent highlights of the Earth collection include the Rome Air and new Vesta Air, both of which feature premium components including the brand’s innovative AirBeam® S.I Pro technology to provide an easy pitching solution to suit larger families for a comfortable camping experience.

New for 2022, the Earth Trek collection introduces Vango’s recycled fabric technology to its Trekking tents. The Heddon tent, which is available as a one or two person tent, utilising walking poles to form the structure, providing a lightweight, space saving, camping solution for compact trekking needs. Additionally, the Earth Trek collection includes the popular Stone rucksacks and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award recommended Trail, Contour and Sherpa rucksacks with the addition of the new Summit water resistant rucksack with plenty of storage space and walking pole attachments.

Rob Birrell, Vango’s Marketing Director, commented, “With campers and hikers continuing to explore the outdoors, our innovative collection will allow us to break new ground heading into the new year by providing our existing and new customers with our most impressive equipment whilst keeping sustainability and environmentally friendly practice very much top of mind. Interest in the outdoors is greater than ever, and we want to encourage thrill-seeking explorers, first time campers and more casual family campers to help bring their adventures to life, creating memories that will never be forgotten with the use of our kit.”

New developments and innovations within Vango’s trekking sleeping bags further highlight the brand’s sustainable DNA. The Microlite sleeping bag has been created for year-round explorers who require a lightweight bag and small pack size with a high thermal capacity ratio. The Zenith sleeping bag has been designed for adventures across the globe with Vango’s shield insect repellent and mosquito net at the head and foot of the bag. The sought-after recycled Era and Evolve family sleeping bags will continue within the collection for 2022.

The collection for 2022 further highlights Vango’s ‘Spirit of Sustainability’ with the launch of the Adventure CLR collection which uses surplus fabric from tent manufacturing combined with Protex Zero Fabric made from single-use plastics to prevent wastage and protect the environment. The collection highlights Vango’s Soul, Tay, and Skye tents, all of which provide a waterproof robust shelter, ideal for festivals, adventures and exploring.

Awning product highlights include the brand’s renowned Balletto, Riviera, and Tuscany caravan awnings, all of which feature the pioneering AirBeam S.I Pro technology in several new fabrics making the range perfect for lightweight touring or extended seasonal pitching.

Furthermore, Vango has introduced a new travel collection named the Shuttle range which is available in four sizes including an everyday laptop bag, lightweight carry-on bags and wheeled luggage. All of which are designed, if needed, to be used together.

As part of Vango’s wider ‘Spirit of Sustainability’ campaign, the brand has partnered up with the University of Glasgow on a new study to outline Scotland’s core costal sites that are under threat due to climate change. The study aims to show the impact on key sites such as Glospie Links, Lunan Bay and the beaches of South Coll. By sharing this knowledge, Vango hope to shine a spotlight on concerns over Scotland’s outdoor spaces and the impact of costal erosion.
