Everyday trail runners help Bridgedale develop their new Trail RUN range!
Bridgedale have been designing and developing the world’s most comfortable and enduring socks for over 100 years, so it’s fair to say that they know their stuff! However, pushing this aside for a new range of Trail RUN socks, they have taken the expert opinions and advice of the community who matter the most for this particular new product range – the trail runners themselves.
Realising that their expertise and experience sways heavily toward road running, they recognised that having the input of amateur enthusiast trail runners would vastly improve the quality of this new technical range. All of the usual unique features that Bridgedale fans know and love are included such as a unique women’s fit (which Bridgedale were the first brand to introduce to the market) with adapted toe box and heel cup areas. Over foot ventilation with open mesh structure to reduce insulation and promote easy moisture transportation. Shock zones with advanced zonal padding for extra support and comfort and anti-shock T2 cushioning for an additional level of impact protection for all-day comfort.
However, Bridgedale has developed further unique features for this range in particular such as natural toe spread to cope phenomenally well with downhill running. A sport fit with supportive compression from the cuff through the arch to improve Proprioception (joint position awareness) around the ankle and midfoot aiding stability and improving balance. Zero debris cuff to prevent debris from entering the sock. And finally, a toe guard with a reinforced toe box to avoid split holes and blowouts when descending.
Furthermore, Bridgedale has partnered with the LYCRA Company and created an innovative yarn that helps bring long-lasting fit with the comfort of dry feet. Coolmax® provides next-to-skin comfort and protection.
The product range includes three different socks:
- Merino Sport lightweight T2 ¾ Crew: a lightweight ¾ crew sock for trail running with T2 targeted heel, ankle and ball of foot impact protection.
- Merino Sport Ultralight T2 ¾ Crew and Low: Ultralight ¾ crew and low sock for trail running. High wicking and breathable for optimal comfort.
- Coolmax Sport Ultralight T2 ¾ Crew and Low: Ultralight non wool ¾ crew and low sock for
trail running. Coolmax® provides next to skin comfort and protection.
Prices start from £12.50 and each sock type has a variety of FOUR colours for both men and women.
