Panels, Partners and Product at ISPO 2024

The European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) is thrilled to launch its packed programme at next week’s ISPO, involving a panel presentation, meeting many of its members and partners, as well the hosting of its ever-popular Conservation Fundraiser.

Twenty-two EOCA members have generously donated items which will be for sale all day, every day of the show.  The Conservation Fundraiser will be held on the association’s stand, A1.103, which has generously been provided by ISPO, offering everything from chalk bags to tents, expedition packs to product after care, with all money raised going to EOCA and its work.   With Christmas round the corner, and every purchase helping support nature conservation, there is no reason not to come and look!

These has been much excitement surrounding the appointment of EOCA’s new Executive Director, Dan Yates, who will be formally introduced at the EOG Industry Breakfast.  This will take place on the morning of Wednesday 4th December on the Green Stage in the Sustainability Hub, A2.  Returning to the same location the following day, Dan will be hosting a prestigious panel at 13.00, alongside Christian Simon Böhm, founder of Patron Plasticfree Peaks, Pascale Moreau from Ohana Public Affairs and Alistair Maltby, a Nature Finance Expert, to discuss ‘The Future of Business and Nature; Challenges and Opportunities’. The panel willbe talking about the critical role wild places and biodiversity will play for business, the direction of travel from  the new EU Mandate and the Green Deal, and the future of the Nature Credits/Natural Capital market.

Each of the speakers for this panel will be available on the EOCA booth at separate ‘Meet the Speaker’ events, introducing their work and giving attendees to the show the opportunity to meet the EOCA team and some of their partners.  Pascale will be on the stand at 11.00 on Wednesday, Christian at 14.00 on the same day, and Alistair will be on the stand at 10.00 on Thursday.

“ISPO is a great moment in the year to come together and swap ideas and innovations, said Dan Yates, Executive Director of EOCA. “Part of that is learning about how our industry impacts on our planet and the nature and biodiversity supporting life upon it.  The other side is understanding and preparing for the way business will need to be done in the future.  It is vital for businesses to get ahead of the curve now, by incorporating into its operational and ESG strategies, the protection and restoration of nature from its own activities and beyond”.
