Dimension-Polyant introduces climate-neutral X-Pac® RX line with recycled polyester and launches cleenTEC® product labeling

Dimension-Polyant, the world’s leading sailcloth producer, introduces a new material to produce bags and backpacks which has been produced completely climate neutral and contains recycled materials.

The RX line is the first product of the X-Pac® Brand which is verified by ClimatePartner to be climate neutral. Managing Director Uwe Stein: “We are very happy to hold the first 100% climate neutral product in our hands today and can already reveal that we have further measures in the works to protect our environment and that more products will follow soon.

We are working with our raw material suppliers to gradually increase the proportion of recycled and bio-based fibres without compromising on quality.”

X-Pac® RX 3-layer laminates feature its distinguishable X-PLY® fiber reinforcement technology for an innovative three-layer construction that’s rugged, flexible and 100 percent waterproof. A lighter-weight polyester film backing provides a sleek, technical appearance. “The outer layer is made from locvally-sourced recycled PET to align with the domestic manufacture in our climate neutral facility to help minimize our environmental impact. The feedback we get from our brand partners for this is great.” adds Stein.

The RX cloth collection is designed for the long haul and use in the toughest conditions. It is offered in three qualities:

  • RX15: Lightweight 150 denier face fabric for extremely lightweight backpacks and bags for rapid ascents or as an inner lining for a technical backpack.
  • RX30: A 300 denier face fabric that features the most balanced construction for performance outdoor or urban applications.
  • RX36: Highly technical face fabric that combines the performance of 300 denier fibre with the durability of 600 denier fabric. Ideal for day packs, frame bags and travel bags.

All climate-neutral products from Dimension-Polyant carry the cleenTEC® seal. Stein explains: “We have to enable consumers to easily identify our sustainable materials. All cleenTEC® labelled products are guaranteed to be 100 percent climate neutral and contain recycled or bio-based raw materials.”

Dimension-Polyant also minimises its impact on the environment by producing high quality materials that help products last longer.

Dimension-Polyant’s production facilities in Kempen, Germany and Putnam, USA have been 100 percent climate neutral since the beginning of 2021. Carbon emissions have been recorded within the framework of DIN ISO 50001 and significantly reduced through the use of green electricity, green gas and other measures. All remaining emissions are being reduced by our carbon offset programme in cooperation with ClimatePartner and its Plastic Free Oceans climate protection project.
